Siona Sammartino is a Whole Foods Chef and Nutrition Educator who specializes in pantry makeovers, shopping tours and private cooking classes. She takes a holistic approach to cooking and nutrition and considers food our best medicine and an important source of enjoyment for the body, mind and soul. Siona’s cooking style is creative, interactive and focused on seasonal ingredients and inspired flavors. With her expertise in whole food menu planning, Siona helps her clients bring more colors into their diet, feel confident in the kitchen and transform how and what they eat.
Siona trained at Bastyr University’s Nutrition and Culinary Arts program. She is a PCC Cooks instructor, the creator of Thyme to Spice it Up food blog and business, and a skilled food forager. Each summer Siona and Jennifer co-teach the Seaweed 101 workshops, which take place on Lopez Island. Passionate about food energetics and whole body healing, Siona has also studied herbal medicine and apprenticed under a traditional Chinese medicine acupuncturist and herbalist in Boulder, CO. When she’s not in the kitchen, you can find her studying nutrition, taking walks in the woods and foraging for wild herbs, crafting recipes and visiting the local farmers’ market.
