McKenzie Zajonc
McKenzie Zajonc is a Certified Nutritionist who will work with you to bring more energy and compassion to your life. She will help you better understand the scientific, culinary, historical and spiritual components of food. Be it in your own private kitchen, in a group setting or through individual or family nutrition counseling. McKenzie will partner with you to cultivate tools that create lasting change. She is currently seeing clients in Seattle and Bainbridge Island with Passionate Nutrition, supporting wellness at a larger scale at Corporate Wellness Solutions and is a counseling lab facilitator at Bastyr University.
Clients and colleagues describe McKenzie as a genuine and personable spirit who powerfully impacts the children, adolescents and adults that she works with. In addition to receiving her Master’s degree in Nutrition, she also received a Master’s in Health Psychology from Bastyr University. She is trained in evidence-based Motivational Interviewing techniques that promote lifestyle changes designed for and by you.
An avid gardener and whole foods cook, McKenzie began her wellness path via her role as an athlete. She believes the relationship we have with the physical body is vital to our happiness. She also understands that finding satisfaction can be complex in a society with an unrealistic body-ideal and is eager to empower an alliance between you and your inherent physique.
Common counseling topics include: nutrition for weight loss, improving body-satisfaction, anxiety and depression, digestion wellness, cancer prevention, stress reduction, sports nutrition, intuitive and mindful eating, and managing inflammation and hormonal imbalances. McKenzie has been highly influenced by the work of Ellyn Satter, RD and specializes in working with parents to better support their child’s age-appropriate nutrients, intuitive eating patterns, picky habits, and natural growth patterns. She considers Jennifer Adler, founder of Passionate Nutrition, a skilled mentor and teacher, and incorporates her philosophies into much of her work with clients.
McKenzie is a former Division I athlete, world traveler and wilderness guide. She is a member of the Center for Mindful Eating and a Northwest Native. For more information please contact her at mckenzie@passionatenutrition.com.
** Please note, McKenzie is happy to see clients on a sliding scale, depending on income. Contact Jennifer Adler to determine your eligibility and rate. You can also book standard appointments online.
